Responsibilities

The Director of Construction will oversee and manage our individual Project Managers, Superintendents, and Working Foremen, providing top-level guidance and support for each Buestad assignment underway. The Director will bring the big picture to our daily functions by recommending advancements in technology, materials, and procedures. Specifically, the Director will:

Oversee all Buestad projects from commencement to completion by working with the specific Project Manager and Site Superintendent or Working Foreman

• Be familiar with each project’s budget, contracts, schedule and construction documents
• Provide guidance and support on how best to schedule subcontractors to best meet the project schedule
• Monitor for compliance to safety-related regulations on project sites
• Conduct all weekly Buestad team meetings and determine the best allocation of Buestad staff to various projects
• Meet monthly with Buestad Project Managers to review each manager’s project schedules, variance reports, and to-do lists.
• Review daily activity reports in Procore
• Attend project meetings with full client team when needed
• Help secure building permits and revisions, use permits and other licenses as required
• Ensure Buestad quality standards are maintained throughout projects
• Help resolve any issues regarding subcontractors, employees, full client team with the specific Buestad Project Manager
• Implement and optimize operational procedures to streamline projects and create efficiency
• Assist with projects pre-construction phase

Experience

Candidates should have a minimum of five years as a Project Manager of residential construction and five years as a Supervisor of residential construction in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Compensation

Full annual salary of $160,000 to $180,000. Salary will be determined by the candidate’s experience and seniority. Buestad offers these benefits: Holiday Pay, Paid Time Off (Vacation Time), Medical Plan (Kaiser or United Healthcare) and a 401k Retirement Plan.
